RESUME
Work Experience
Research Assistant for Columbia University Astrophysics Professor David Kipping
May 2020-Present
-
Devised a novel workflow for identifying undiscovered exoplanets in archival radial velocity (RV) data, and used this workflow to validate one new planet
-
Modified the RadVel python RV modeling package to include the photo-eccentric effect to accurately characterize this exoplanet
-
Submitted a paper discussing these results in November 2020 (awaiting publication)
Caltech SURF Fellow
June 2019-September 2019
-
Worked in 10 person team under Caltech/JPL senior scientist Dr. Dimitri Mawet and NASA Hubble Fellow Dr. Max Millar-Blanchaer researching exoplanets and brown dwarfs with the WIRC+Pol instrument
-
Successfully reduced unwanted systematic polarization on WIRC+Pol data from ~8% to less than 1%
-
Awarded Palomar Observatory SURF grant to use WIRC+Pol to take my own data for the project
-
Contributed to paper submitted on August 27, 2019
Research Assistant for University of Pennsylvania Astrophysics Professor Adam Lidz
May 2018-Present
-
Implemented a new section in the 21cmFAST simulation in which fuzzy dark matter (FDM) model universes could be generated; used 21cmSENSE to forecast expected HERA error on 21cmFAST output
-
First to test how different FDM models affect the power spectrum of the 21cm brightness temperature for several universes; ruled out possibility of FDM universe with a particle mass of 10^-22 MeV
-
Working with three person team, submitted paper discussing these results to Astrophysical Journal
Gravity Industries Intern
September 2018-September 2019
-
3d-modeled Jet Suit race courses using Blender software for the upcoming Jet Suit Racing Series
-
3d-modeled prototype Jet Suits and Jet Suit racers to be used as a guide in future Jet Suit production
